Adani Power to build new power plant in Uttar Pradesh: State orders 1500 MW power supply; gets second major project in a year
Adani Power has got a contract to supply 1500 mega watts (MW) of electricity in Uttar Pradesh. For this, the company will build a new ultra-supercritical power plant in UP. Electricity will be supplied from the plant at the rate of Rs 5.383 per unit.
The plant will be developed under the Design, Build, Finance, Own and Operate (DBFOO) model. The demand for electricity in UP is expected to increase by 11,000 MW by 2033-34. Due to this, more contracts can be given to Adani.
A 6,600 MW contract was received in September last year
This is the second major contract Adani Power has received in a year. Earlier in September 2024, the company had signed an agreement with the Maharashtra government to supply 6,600 MW of electricity.
Adani Energy Solutions has also received an order of ₹ 2,800 crore
On March 21, Adani Energy Solutions received a power transmission project worth ₹ 2,800 crore in Gujarat. The company said that it has received a power transmission project in Gujarat, which will supply green electrons for the manufacturing of green hydrogen and green ammonia in Mundra. This project will be delivered to the country in 36 months.
This project also includes upgrading the Navinal (Mundra) electrical substation by adding two large 765/400kV transformers. Apart from this, a 75 km long 765kV double-circuit line will be built to connect this substation to Bhuj substation.
Adani Power’s earnings increased, profit decreased The total income of Adani Group company Adani Power Limited in the fourth quarter was Rs 14,536 crore. This is 4.7% more than last year. In this earning of the company, revenue from operations was Rs 14,237 crore. Whereas in the January to March quarter, the total expenditure of the company was Rs 11,274 crore and total tax was Rs 662 crore.
