Infosys and Anthropic sign major AI deal, focus on these sectors
Infosys has announced a partnership with Anthropic to strengthen enterprise AI solutions. The company stated in a stock exchange filing on Tuesday that the collaboration will begin in the telecom sector, where a dedicated Anthropic Center of Excellence will be established. Its purpose is to develop and deploy AI agents for industry-specific operations.
According to the company, under this partnership, Anthropic’s cloud models, including Cloud Code, will be integrated with Infosys Topaz AI offerings. This integration aims to help enterprises automate complex workflows, accelerate software delivery, and adopt AI with governance and transparency, especially in industries with stringent regulatory standards.
In the first phase, AI agents for telecom companies will help modernize network operations, simplify customer lifecycle management, and improve service delivery. This collaboration will subsequently expand to areas such as financial services, manufacturing, and software development.
Infosys and Anthropic will also focus on agentic AI systems. According to the company, these systems will not only be limited to answering questions, but will also be able to independently handle multi-step tasks such as claims processing, code generation and testing, and compliance reviews. Tools like the Cloud Agent SDK will enable organizations to manage long and complex processes more efficiently.
In financial services, AI agents will help accelerate risk identification and assessment, automate compliance reporting, and make customer interactions more personalized. In manufacturing and engineering, cloud models will be used to accelerate product design and simulation, reducing research and development time.
In software development, cloud code will be used to write, test, and debug code. Infosys said it is already using Cloud Code in its Exponential Engineering unit to develop internal expertise and best practices, which will be further implemented in client projects.
