Maruti Cars to Become Up to ₹30,000 More Expensive: New Prices Effective June 2026; Company Cites Rising Input Costs for Decision
The country’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India, has announced a price hike of up to ₹30,000 for its passenger vehicles (PVs). These revised prices, announced by the company, will come into effect starting June 2026. The company has taken this decision due to continuously rising input costs.
According to Maruti, this price hike will apply to all models across its entire portfolio. However, the specific extent of the price increase for each vehicle will depend on its particular model and variant. The company disclosed this information in a regulatory filing submitted to the stock exchanges.
Prices to Rise for All Arena and Nexa Models
The company sells its vehicles through two distinct dealership channels: Arena and Nexa. Starting in June, cars sold through both of these channels will become more expensive.
Arena Models: Prices will be revised for models falling under this channel, including the Alto K10, S-Presso, Celerio, WagonR, Eeco, Swift, Dzire, Ertiga, Brezza, and Victories.
Nexa Models: Prices will also increase for vehicles sold through the premium Nexa channel—specifically the Baleno, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Jimny, XL6, Invicto, and the recently launched electric car, the eVX (e-Vitara).
Company’s Cost-Reduction Efforts Prove Insufficient
The automaker, known for manufacturing the Brezza, stated that it had been making continuous efforts over the past few months to mitigate the impact of rising costs.
To this end, the company had implemented various cost-reduction measures to ensure that the financial burden would not have to be passed on to customers.
However, inflationary pressures in the market have reached a significantly high level, and an adverse cost environment continues to persist. Efforts to Minimize Impact on Customers
In its regulatory filing, the company clarified that, due to prevailing economic conditions, it had become necessary to pass on a portion of the increased costs to the market.
Nevertheless, the company has endeavored to ensure that this price hike has a minimal impact on ordinary customers.
Prices Rising After More Than a Year
Maruti Suzuki last raised the prices of its cars in April 2025. At that time, the company had increased the prices of various models by up to ₹62,000.
Now, after a gap of more than a year, the company has once again announced a price hike. Meanwhile, several other car manufacturers across both the mass-market and luxury segments had already raised the prices of their vehicles back in January 2026.
