Skoda Volkswagen India Becomes Top Exporter; Ships Over 40,000 Vehicles

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has recently achieved a significant milestone. The company has been honored with the ‘Automobile: Top Exporter’ award by the Mumbai Port Authority for the 2025-26 fiscal year.

Driven by its impressive export performance, the company has played a pivotal role in establishing India as a global automobile manufacturing hub.

During the 2025-26 fiscal year, the company exported over 40,000 vehicles via the Mumbai Port—a remarkable achievement in itself. The Mumbai Port continues to serve as a crucial gateway for the company to access international markets.

Secures Award for the Second Consecutive Year

This prestigious award was presented during the ‘Business Conclave with Partners’ event organized by the Mumbai Port Authority. Amit Madan, Vice President (Logistics), accepted the honor on behalf of the company. This is not the first time Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has received this recognition; the company was previously awarded the ‘Top Exporter’ title in 2023-24. Over the past few years, the company has rapidly expanded its export network. To date, more than 7.25 lakh vehicles manufactured in India have been exported to regions including Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and North America.

Strengthening the ‘Make in India’ Initiative

Expressing delight over this achievement, Piyush Arora, Managing Director and CEO, stated that the award stands as a testament to the company’s quality and operational excellence. He noted that the manufacturing ecosystem in India has evolved into a robust global export hub for the group, and the company remains committed to further strengthening India’s role in the future. **Export of Parts Alongside Vehicles**

Škoda Auto Volkswagen India currently exports models such as the Volkswagen Taigun, Virtus, Škoda Kushaq, and Slavia. In addition, the company is focusing on the export of auto parts and components. Having recently entered the Sri Lankan market, the company is also exploring new international markets. This is expected to further boost India’s automobile exports.
