What to expect at Apple’s iPhone 12 event next week: Preview

Apple’s next event is going to take place on Tuesday, October 13, and all hints points at the grand debut of the iPhone 12 series. You read it right, Apple is likely to announce four brand new models in the new iPhone 12 series including a 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. However, the new iPhones aren’t the only major announcement anticipated next week. We may see the launch of a new Apple TV streaming box, AirTags, AirPods Studio, and a mini HomePod smart speaker. We will be covering all the news from the event – so keep visiting the site.

How to watch Apple event live

You can watch the live event directly on Apple’s official website using an iPhone, Mac, PC, iPad, or any other device with a pre-installed web browser. The livestream of the event could also be watched on Apply TV. Apple will also stream the live introduction of the iPhone 12 on YouTube as well. Apple’s October 13 fall event commences at 10:30 pm IST.

iPhone 12 series

The new iPhone 12 series may release with four different iPhone models: a 5.4-inch iPhone 12 Mini, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and a 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. All four sets may release with 5G support, but only the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max will consist a millimeter-wave 5G. This iPhone model may be the only one to come with 3D depth-sensing technology. Several reports suggest that the new iPhone 12 may not carry earbuds or power adapter. In terms of design and appearance, the iPhone 12 series will have tweaked designs – similar to a boxy shape reflection of iPhone 4 and iPad Pro. The A14 Bionic-powered iPhone 12 may be cheaper than the iPhone 11 with a starting price of $649.

New Apple TV

At the upcoming October 13 event, Apple is also expected to launch a brand new Apple TV streaming box. We don’t expect a whole different Apple TV this year. Some recent reports hint a new Apple TV streaming box with a better processor and an upgraded remote. There are also some reports that Apple is working on a gaming controller device for the Apple TV. It makes a lot of sense, given Apple Arcade service works on the Apple TV.

AirPods Studio

Apple’s over-ear headphones have been in news for quite some time. Since Apple recently lifted competitors’ headphones and speakers from its online and physical stores, we are sure that the launch of AirPods Studio is around the corner. With AirPods Studio, this would be marked as Apple’s entry into the high-quality over-ear headphones market which is currently ruled by the likes of Sony and Bose. Reports suggest that AirPods Studio will come with noise cancellation feature and a unique “neck detection” sensor which would tell you whether headphones are on your head or on your neck.

AirTags

Apple might also take time and discuss AirTags at the event. The clip-like accessory could look like small rubber disks with an aluminum panel on the back and a visible Apple logo. The new proprietary device can be placed on items like keys, backpacks, or mobile phones. AirTags are like tiny tracking device that can be used to find lost items using your iPhone. AirTags could be reasonably priced.

Mini HomePod

Apple will probably also roll out the small version of HomePod. The original HomePod is an amazing smart sound speaker, but it costs a hefty amount Rs. 20,000. Apple, perhaps, needs a lower-cost smart speaker to compete with the likes of Google and Amazon. Expect a less costly HomePod with the same design as the original but in a smaller body.

What not to expect

Obviously, we can’t expect an Apple Car going to be unveiled in the event.
