Vivo may launch its new OS, to be called Origin OS

The Chinese smartphone company Vivo is soon going to roll out its custom operating system, claims a report by GizChina. The report says that the company will launch a new UI, which will be called Origin OS.

The report mentions Digital Chat Station, a popular Weibo Leakster, who also says that this custom skin is expected to replace the current FunTouch OS and come with some improvements; however, it doesn’t add what these improvements are.

The report reveals that this system will come with new and full features and should be among the first echelon of Android customised UI. The new custom OS is expected to be released between November and December.

The first smartphone series that is supposed to run on Origin OS is Vivo X60 series.

A few days back, an image surfaced on Chinese microblogging website Weibo displaying a retail store in China with the branding of Vivo X60 suggesting an imminent launch.

Earlier in July this year, an unverified listing of Vivo X60s on Bluetooth SIG site showed that the phone is expected to come with a 33W fast charging unit and may be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC equipped with 8GB RAM.

However, there is still no official announcement from the company regarding the launch of Origin OS and the Vivo X60 lineup.
