India’s second Google Cloud area started in Delhi-NCR, now customers will get better service

Google Cloud India has announced the launch of its new cloud region in Delhi-NCR. This will help the company to serve customers in the public sector especially in India and across Asia-Pacific. This cloud space is Google’s second such setup in India, although the company did not disclose the investment made on it.

Google’s first cloud region in India – consisting of three ‘availability zones’ – went live in 2017 in Mumbai. The cloud region of Delhi-NCR (which has three availability zones) is Google’s 10th setup in Asia Pacific and 26th globally. Cloud areas are physical geographic locations where public cloud resources exist.

Cloud  customers will get better services
Cloud regions are the physical geographic locations where public cloud resources are located. With this new region, Google’s cloud customers operating in India will be able to get better services. Having a new cloud segment will help Google compete more aggressively against rivals such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft, which are rapidly expanding their presence in India.

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, said that Google Cloud is helping companies of all sizes solve complex challenges using reliable and secure cloud technology. “This includes companies such as HDFC Bank, which is using Google Cloud for operational convenience, and ShareChat, which is using Google Cloud to better serve its customers in 15 different Indian languages.

Several companies in India are using Google Cloud.
Google Cloud focuses on retail, CPG, healthcare and life sciences, financial services, communication service providers, media and entertainment, gaming, manufacturing and industrial, supply chain and logistics and the public sector. Its customers in India include HCL, InMobi, TVS, Dailyhunt, Voot, etc.
