Facebook removed 31.5 million hate posts in the second quarter

Facebook has claimed action against 31.15 million posts of mutual hatred during the second quarter of the current financial year from June to August.

The company said in a report that there has now been a massive reduction in hate content posts on their social media platforms. Now for every 10,000 posts, the number of posts spreading hatred has come down to five.

Guy Rosen, Facebook’s vice president (integration) said, “We removed 31.15 million hate content this quarter, compared to 252 million last quarter.” At the same time, 98 lakh content has been removed from Instagram, compared to 63 lakh in the first quarter. There has been some decrease in the prevalence of hate content on Facebook for the third quarter in a row.

He said that since Facebook began reporting such content, there has been a 15-fold increase in the removal of hate content on Facebook and Instagram.
