There are also complaints about further increase in rent due to rains in the monsoon season. In such a situation, the Karnataka Transport Department has taken strict action against these big cab aggregators. The Karnataka Transport Department has sent a notice to these cab aggregators, ordering them to shut down their auto service in Bengaluru within three days. This action has been taken on the basis of complaints about these companies charging arbitrary rent.

The Karnataka Transport Department has ordered the suspension of auto services of cab aggregators like Ola, Uber and Rapido in Bengaluru, declaring it illegal. The order comes after complaints of aggregators charging ₹100 for a 2-km journey by auto.

What is the rule

As per the rules set in Bengaluru, the maximum fare for 2 kms for auto fare in the city is fixed at Rs 30. After this Rs 15 can be charged for every kilometer. But there have been frequent complaints where cab aggregators like Ola, Uber, Rapido charge up to Rs 100 for a ride distance of up to 2 km.
