Adani Group called the Financial Times report baseless: Said- FT is continuously running a campaign to tarnish the company’s image.

Adani Group has termed a report against it by UK based newspaper Financial Times as baseless. Adani Group said that FT is running a continuous campaign to reduce its market value and tarnish its reputation. In a recent report, Financial Times had accused Adani Group of over-invoicing in coal imports.

Another attempt to destabilize Adani Group financially

Adani Group said that the UK-based newspaper had failed in its attempts earlier also and is now making another attempt to destabilize the Adani Group financially. Once again recycling old and baseless allegations of over-invoicing in coal imports. The Financial Times story is based on a March 30, 2016 circular from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence.

The agenda of the Financial Times is exposed by the fact that the DRI circular on which this story is based, names 40 other importers including Adani, but the FT has made allegations only against the Adani Group. Apart from Reliance Infra, JSW Steel and Essar Group, names of power generating companies of many state governments like Karnataka, Gujarat, Haryana, Tamil Nadu are also there.

Financial Times joins hands with OCCRP

The group said, Financial Times has joined hands with OCCRP i.e. Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project. OCCRP is the organization of George Soros. FT had also published a baseless story against the group on 31 August 2023.
