Adani Group will spend ₹3000 crore on defense manufacturing: South Asia’s largest plant built on 500 acres, ammunition and missiles will be produced here

South Asia’s largest ammunition and missile manufacturing complex in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh has been inaugurated by CM Yogi Adityanath today i.e. on Monday, 26 February. This defense manufacturing complex is being built by Adani Group company Adani Defense and Aerospace.

The company will spend around Rs 3000 crore for this manufacturing plant spread over 500 acres. According to the company, about 4000 people will get direct employment here.

The company will work on development in the field of counter drone, intelligence, surveillance and recce technology and cyber defense in this plant. Apart from this, ammunition will be manufactured here for Armed Forces, Paramilitary Forces and Police.

Production of small caliber ammunition started

The company said that production of small caliber ammunition has also started here. Initially 15 crore rounds are being made here, which is 25% of the total requirement of the country.

The company said- this will encourage technology growth

The company said in its statement, ‘The first of its kind modern plants in the private sector in India will encourage self-reliance and technology growth in the defense sector. These defense manufacturing units were inaugurated on the fifth anniversary of the Balakot air strike.
