Gautam Adani will set up a big semiconductor plant in Maharashtra with an Israeli company, 15,000 people will get jobs.

Adani Group, in collaboration with an Israeli company, is going to set up a semiconductor manufacturing plant in Maharashtra with a total investment of Rs 83,947 crore ($10 billion). This information was given in an official statement. The Maharashtra government has approved four huge high-technology projects, including Adani Group’s project in partnership with Tower Semiconductor. A total investment of Rs 1.17 lakh crore is expected in these projects and around 29,000 employment opportunities will be created.

There will be investment in EV also

Officials said these projects were approved in the meeting of the Sub-Committee on Industries Department of the State Cabinet held on Thursday evening. In a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Friday, it was said that under these projects, there will be investment in areas like semiconductor and electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said these projects will help in strengthening the local supply chain and promote technological innovation, research and development. Shinde said, “These projects will help the stakeholders associated with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and provide training and skill development opportunities to the local labor force.”

Employing 15,000 people

According to the statement, Adani Group will set up a huge semiconductor manufacturing project in collaboration with Israeli company Tower Semiconductor. An investment of Rs 58,763 crore will be made in the first phase of the project and Rs 25,184 crore in the second phase. The total investment on this project will be Rs 83,947 crore which is expected to provide employment to 15,000 people. This will be the first step in the field of semiconductor manufacturing for the Adani Group, which is active in diverse businesses. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on social media platform ‘X’ that the Adani-Tower alliance will set up this chip manufacturing plant in Taloja on the outskirts of Mumbai.

40,000 chips will be made every month

He said that in the first phase, 40,000 chips will be made per month, while in the second phase this capacity will increase to 80,000 per month. Apart from this, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India will set up an electric vehicle manufacturing project in Pune with an investment of Rs 12,000 crore which will provide employment to 1,000 people. According to the official statement, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Company will bring its huge electric vehicle manufacturing project in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. There will be an investment of Rs 21,273 crore in this project and around 12,000 jobs will be created. Apart from this, Raymond Luxury Cottons will set up a huge project in Amravati where products will be manufactured through spinning, thread dyeing, jute weaving, cotton, jute, mesta and cotton weaving. There will be an investment of Rs 188 crore on this project and 550 people will get employment. Earlier, in the Cabinet sub-committee meeting held in July, projects worth Rs 80,000 crore were approved. In the last two months, projects with an investment of Rs 2 lakh crore were approved which will create 35,000 jobs.
