Odisha receives investment proposals worth Rs 13 lakh crore, 145 MOUs signed, about 9 lakh jobs will be created
The Odisha government has signed 145 MoUs with various companies in its two-day business summit. These agreements propose a total investment of Rs 12.89 lakh crore under projects that will create 8.94 lakh jobs. This was stated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at the conclusion of the state’s flagship business summit ‘Utkarsh Odisha, Make in Odisha (MIO) Conclave, 2025’. Majhi said, “A total of 145 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed in this summit. Agreements have been made for investments worth Rs 12.89 lakh crore through these MoUs.”
These are the top investors
Officials said that the top investors at the conference include Adani Group (Rs 2.28 lakh crore), Vedanta Limited (Rs 1 lakh crore), Tata Group (Rs 87,944 crore), Mahanadi Coalfields (Rs 81,900 crore), JSW Group (Rs 75,000 crore), NLC (Rs 52,000 crore), SAIL (Rs 50,800 crore), NTPC Limited (Rs 36,131 crore), NALCO (Rs 35,000 crore), JSPL (Rs 25,570 crore), Aditya Birla Group (Rs 19,017 crore) and JSL (Rs 15,000 crore).
Most proposals came in these sectors
Most investment proposals came in metals and minerals sector (48 MoUs), power and renewable green energy (25), agro-based and food processing (21), chemicals, petrochemicals and plastics (17), textiles and apparel (11) and green energy equipment (nine). Other proposals came in sectors like cement, logistics infrastructure, shipbuilding and recycling, general manufacturing, biotech and pharmaceuticals, engineering goods, aerospace and defense, IT and ESDM, paper, wood, forest products and ceramics, glass, granite and tires.
More than 8.94 lakh employment opportunities will be created
The Chief Minister said that the implementation of these agreements will create more than 8.94 lakh employment opportunities in the state. He said, “This will bring a big change in the socio-economic condition of the state and will lead to inclusive growth of Odisha.” Majhi said that apart from signing the MoUs, the state government has also received 448 proposals for investment of Rs 3.84 lakh crore. It is expected to generate 3.92 lakh employment opportunities. The Chief Minister said the conference was attended by delegates from 16 countries, including partner countries like Singapore, Malaysia and Australia. He said Odisha is an attractive destination on the global investment map.

Many prominent names from the Indian industry, including Anil Agarwal, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Sajjan Jindal, Naveen Jindal, Karan Adani, etc. attended the conference. Majhi expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who on Tuesday inaugurated the state’s flagship business summit and encouraged investors to set up their projects in Odisha. Majhi said, “We are committed to achieving the
goal of a prosperous Odisha 2036 and contribute to a developed India 2047.” The Chief Minister also announced that the ‘Make in Odisha’ exhibition will be extended by one more day till January 31 so that people, especially the youth and students, can get a better understanding about Odisha’s emergence as an emerging industrial hub of the country.
