India-Israel: Israeli Industry Minister said – India has a lot to offer to the world, big talk on FTA

Israel’s Minister of Economy and Industry Nir Barkat is on a visit to India these days. During this he participated in the India Israel Business Forum organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Israeli Minister Nir Barkat said that the proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and Israel should be as comprehensive as possible.

He further said that India has a lot to offer to the world and Israel will propose to expand the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with New Delhi. At the same time, he also spoke on India-Israel relations. Industries Minister Nir Barkat said that Israelis love Indians and Indians love Israelis. We have always felt safe living and doing business in India.

Neer Barkat said at a program of industry body CII that I will propose to your minister to expand the free trade agreement naturally, develop business in a skillful manner and share knowledge and experience as much as possible. Sharing the experience in dealing with terrorism, Israel’s Minister of Economy and Industry Nir Barkat said that Iran is funding global terrorism in our region. If proxies in Lebanon target Israel, we will hit Iran.

He said that both the sides will have to focus on complementary areas for the proposed FTA, where India and Israel have a competitive advantage. Also said that it (FTA) should be as wide as possible for maximum trade, because free trade connects people. He said that Israel can contribute a lot in areas such as agricultural technology, health technology and food technology, and trade has a lot to offer on both sides.
