Airbus gave contract to make aircraft doors to Indian company, MD said – will promote Make in India

Airbus has awarded the contract to an Indian company to manufacture all doors of its narrow body aircraft A220 model. The announcement was made at an event organized here on Thursday in the presence of Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and others. Its financial details have not been disclosed. The contract has been awarded to Bengaluru-based Dynamic Technologies, which already manufactures flap track beams for the Airbus A330 and A320 aircraft.

This is one of the largest export contracts for an Indian aerospace manufacturing company. This is the second time Airbus has awarded the contract to manufacture aircraft doors to an Indian supplier. In 2023, Airbus awarded the contract to Tata Advanced Systems Ltd to manufacture the bulk and cargo doors of the A320 aircraft. Scindia said that India is becoming the destination for manufacturing activities of aircraft parts. Stating that this is the right time for Airbus to invest in India, the minister said the aircraft manufacturer aims to increase sourcing of aircraft components from the country to $1.5 billion. Last year it was 75 crore dollars.

Remi Maillard, President and Managing Director, Airbus India and South Asia, said, “Airbus continues to emphasize on ‘Make in India’. This contract with our trusted partner Dynamatic is a significant step forward in aerospace manufacturing in India. Airbus Manufacturing And will act as a special catalyst to holistically develop the Indian aerospace ecosystem from assembly to design and development as well as maintenance and skills.”
