John Ternus to Take the Helm at Apple After Tim Cook: Company CEO Changing After 15 Years; Cook to Become Executive Chairman
John Ternus will succeed Tim Cook as Apple’s new CEO. He is set to take charge of the company on September 1, 2026. Cook will now assume the role of Executive Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors. The Board has unanimously approved this plan.
Tim Cook: Transformed Apple into a $4 Trillion Company
Tim Cook joined Apple in 1998 and became CEO in 2011. Under his leadership, Apple’s market capitalization has surged from $350 billion (approximately ₹32 lakh crore) to $4 trillion (roughly ₹350 lakh crore). The company’s annual revenue has also grown from $108 billion (approximately ₹10 lakh crore) to surpass $416 billion (₹39 lakh crore) in 2025.
