Maxvolt Energy’s Big Move! Foundation Laid for ₹700 Crore Battery Plant in UP
Maxvolt Energy Industries Limited has laid the foundation stone for its upcoming battery manufacturing plant in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. The project is estimated to cost ₹700 crore. The company recently performed the *Bhoomi Pujan* (groundbreaking ceremony). This plant will boost the company’s manufacturing capacity for electric mobility, energy storage, and OEM applications, while also producing batteries for four-wheeler electric vehicles.
Project to be Completed in Two Phases
According to the company, the plant will be constructed over an area of approximately 23,576 square meters (about 6 acres). The project will be executed in two phases, with plans to add an annual production capacity of 5 GWh in each phase.
Upon completion of both phases, the Aligarh plant will have a total annual capacity of 10 GWh. When combined with the company’s existing Duhai plant, the total annual manufacturing capacity across both sites will reach approximately 12.5 GWh. The company stated that the new unit would also feature dedicated production lines for clients, helping to meet the demand for electric mobility, energy storage, telecom, power backup, and other battery applications.
Key Officials Attend Groundbreaking Ceremony
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by senior executives from Maxvolt Energy and other stakeholders, alongside Alok Kumar (Additional Chief Secretary, MSME), Praveen Singh (Director, UPICON), and Satish Kumar Gautam (Member of Parliament, Aligarh).
Satendra Shukla, Co-founder and CEO of Maxvolt Energy, stated that the demand for batteries in India is rising simultaneously across multiple sectors. E-rickshaw operators, solar installers, telecom operators, hospitals, and household consumers are increasingly shifting towards lithium-based solutions. According to him, the Aligarh plant is being developed specifically to cater to this growing demand.
